IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES FOR THE 2025/2026 POST UTME/DE SCREENING AT YOBE STATE UNIVERSITY (YSU)
Dear students and parents,
This is an important notice to all students who want to gain admission into Yobe State University (YSU) for the 2025/2026 academic session. Whether you are coming through UTME or Direct Entry (DE), this message is for you. Please read everything carefully and follow the instructions step by step.
1. WHAT ALL CANDIDATES MUST DO
If you are hoping to be admitted into Yobe State University, there are a few things you need to do before you can take part in the Post UTME or Direct Entry screening. These steps are very important and must be followed correctly.
Step 1: Generate REMITA at MINDWAVE MEDIA
Message MINDWAVE MEDIA
Tell MINDWAVE MEDIA you want to generate REMITA for Yobe State University Post UTME or Direct Entry screening.
The MINDWAVE MEDIA will help you generate something called an RRR number (this is a special number you need to make payment).
Make sure to write down or print this number because you will need it to pay your screening fee.
Step 2: Pay the Screening Fee
After you get your RRR number, you must pay the screening fee.
The screening fee is Two Thousand Naira only (₦2,000.00).
You must pay this money only through REMITA. Do not pay cash to anyone.
You can pay online, or CampusInfo can help you pay.
After paying, print your payment slip. You will need this as proof that you paid.
Step 3: Register Online
Now that you have paid, go online and register.
Visit the official Yobe State University Post UTME/DE registration portal.
Fill in all your details correctly.
Upload all the documents they ask for.
Make sure you double-check everything before you submit your form.
When you are done, print your registration slip and keep it safe.
Note: If you make any mistake in your registration, you may not be considered for admission.
2. DOCUMENTS YOU MUST BRING FOR SCREENING
When it is time for the screening exercise (that is, when the school invites you for physical verification or online checking), you must come along with some important documents. These documents will be used to check your identity, your results, and other things. Make sure you have originals and photocopies of all the documents listed below.
i. Original UTME or DE Slip (2025)
This is the slip that shows you registered for the 2025 UTME or Direct Entry.
It contains your details like name, photo, registration number, and exam center.
If you have lost yours, you can reprint it from the JAMB website.
ii. SSCE Result(s)
Bring your Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination result.
This could be from WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.
Make sure the result shows at least five (5) subjects including English and Mathematics.
The result can be original or statement of result from your school.
iii. Certificate of Indigene (Letter of Origin)
This is a letter that proves where you are from.
You can get it from your Local Government Area (LGA) office.
It is used to show that you are from a particular state or community.
iv. HND/NCE/ND/IJMB Result (for Direct Entry candidates only)
If you are applying through Direct Entry (DE), you must submit your result from any of these:
Higher National Diploma (HND)
Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)
National Diploma (ND)
Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB)
The result must be valid and complete.
v. Primary School Leaving Certificate
This is the certificate you got when you finished primary school.
It shows that you completed your basic education.
If you can’t find it, you can go back to your primary school to get another copy.
vi. Birth Certificate or Age Declaration
This document proves your date of birth.
It can be your Birth Certificate or a sworn Declaration of Age from a court.
Make sure the date on this document matches the one you used during JAMB registration.
TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL SCREENING REGISTRATION
To help you have a smooth and successful screening process, here are some helpful tips:
Start Early: Do not wait until the deadline is close before starting your registration. Cyber cafés may be busy, and the portal may be slow due to many users.
Keep All Receipts and Slips: After payment and registration, print out everything. Keep your payment slip and registration slip safe in a folder.
Be Honest: Do not lie in your registration. Use your real names, dates, and results. If the school finds out that you used false documents, you will not be given admission.
Ask Questions: If you are confused about anything, ask someone who understands. You can talk to your teachers, café staff, or even call the school for help.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
This screening is for students who chose Yobe State University as their first choice during UTME/DE registration.
If you did not choose YSU as your first choice, you must do a change of institution before you can register for the screening.
The screening registration is not free. You must pay ₦2,000.00 as explained earlier.
The school will not accept any payment by hand or through individuals. Always use the official REMITA platform and the university portal.
If you miss the deadline, you may lose your chance to gain admission this year.
WHO CAN APPLY?
You can apply for the Yobe State University Post UTME/DE screening if:
You sat for the 2025 UTME and scored the required cut-off mark (usually around 140 and above, but check for the current cut-off).
You chose YSU as your first choice during your JAMB registration.
You have the required O’Level results (SSCE) with at least five credits.
If you are a Direct Entry applicant, you must have completed your ND, NCE, HND, or IJMB programme.
You have all the documents listed above.
FINAL WORDS FROM THE SCHOOL
The management of Yobe State University wants to wish all candidates good luck as they prepare for the screening exercise. Please remember, gaining admission is not just about passing exams but also about following instructions.
Take all these instructions seriously. Prepare your documents early. Register on time. Pay the correct fee through the correct method. And always tell the truth when filling your forms.
We are excited to welcome new students into our university family. We believe that with hard work, honesty, and patience, you will succeed.
If you have any issues, you can visit the school’s official website or contact the school directly. Avoid falling into the hands of fraudsters or people who claim they can help you get admission. No one can give you admission except the school itself through the proper process.

Garba Ahmadu Girgir
