This is to bring to the attention of all students of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL), that the school management has officially released the revised second semester academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic session. This revised calendar comes as part of the institution’s continuous efforts to ensure a smooth and well-structured academic experience for all students.
Students are hereby advised to take note of the updated schedule of academic activities and prepare accordingly, as strict adherence will be expected throughout the semester. The revised calendar includes important dates for lectures, examinations, results processing, meetings, and resumption for the new academic session.
1. Second Semester Lectures Continuation: 4th August 2025 – 12th September 2025 (6 weeks). During this period, all students are expected to fully participate in academic activities and ensure they cover all outstanding course materials.
2. Second Semester Examination: 15th September 2025 – 10th October 2025 (4 weeks). Students are advised to begin early preparation and consult with their lecturers on any academic concerns prior to the start of exams.
3. Second Semester Break: 13th October 2025 – 16th November 2025 (6 weeks). This period will allow students and staff to take a short academic recess before the commencement of a new session.
4. Marking of Examination Scripts: 13th October 2025 – 24th October 2025 (2 weeks). Lecturers are expected to complete all marking and grading within this timeframe.
5. Departmental/Faculty Board Meetings to Consider Second Semester Results: 27th October 2025 – 31st October 2025 (1 week). Faculties will review students’ performance and finalize recommendations.
6. Senate Business Committee Meeting to Consider Second Semester Results: 3rd November 2025 – 7th November 2025 (1 week). The Committee will assess and compile results from all departments.
7. Senate Meeting to Approve Second Semester Examination Results: 13th November 2025 (1 day). The final approval of student results will be concluded on this day.
8. Resumption and Registration of New and Returning Students: 17th November 2025. All students are expected to resume and complete their registration processes without delay.
In addition to the above, students should take note of the public holiday during this period:
Independence Day: 1st October 2025.
