2025/2026 POST-UTME ADMISSION SCREENING EXERCISE

INTRODUCTION

The Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, is a very unique school in Nigeria. It is the only College that focuses mainly on Special Education in the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa. The College was created in October 1977 to train teachers and other professionals who can work with people who have special needs.

Because of this special focus, the College admits students from all over Nigeria. It does not concentrate on just one state. Instead, it allows students from anywhere in the country to apply and study. This makes the school very popular and full of different kinds of students.

For the 2025/2026 admission, the College has announced that the Post-UTME Screening Exercise will take place on:


 Thursday, 25th September, 2025

All candidates who wish to apply are expected to read and follow the guidelines below carefully so that they do not make any mistakes during application.

A. PROGRAMMES AVAILABLE


 Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)

This is the main programme offered at the College. After completing the programme, graduates can work as trained teachers in primary and junior secondary schools across Nigeria.

B. ELIGIBILITY FOR THE PROGRAMME

Who is allowed to apply?

1. Candidates who chose the College as their first choice during the 2025 UTME and scored 100 marks or above.

2. Candidates who did not choose the College initially but scored 100 marks or above can still apply. However, they must first change their institution on the JAMB portal to make the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo their first choice before applying.

3. All applicants must be at least 16 years old on or before 30th September, 2025.

C. METHOD OF APPLICATION

To apply, follow the easy steps below:

1. Visit the College’s Post-UTME application website.

2. Pay a non-refundable fee of ₦2,000.00 using Remita through any commercial bank or online payment platform.

3. Carefully fill and submit the online application form on the website.

4. Upload your documents:

Your O’level result(s) (e.g. WAEC, NECO, NABTEB)

Your recent passport photograph with white background

(not more than 100 KB in JPG or JPEG format. No glasses, veils, or head coverings)

5. After submitting, print out your application form for evidence of successful registration.

D. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE

All candidates must bring the following items during the screening:

1. A copy of the completed online screening form.

2. Two copies of UTME result notification slip.

3. Original and photocopy of the printed online admission screening application form.

4. O’level results: SSCE/WAEC/NECO or NABTEB.

(Results for Technical, Adult, Non-Formal Education, English Language, Integrated Science, Physics, etc.)

5. Change of Institution slip (for those who did not pick the College originally but later changed it to first choice).

6. Upload O’level results to your JAMB CAPS profile at any CBT centre.

7. Awaiting Result Candidates (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB) may apply, but must upload their results to JAMB CAPS before 24th September, 2025.

E. SUBMISSION OF FORMS ONLINE


 Deadline for submission of application forms online:

Wednesday, 24th September, 2025 by 4:00 PM

Make sure you complete and submit before the deadline, because the College will not extend the date.

F. TIME AND VENUE OF THE SCREENING EXERCISE

Time: 9:00 AM prompt

Venue: As printed on the copy of each candidate’s screening application form

Candidates must arrive early because lateness may disqualify you. Dress neatly and behave well.

EXTRA IMPORTANT NOTES TO CANDIDATES

If you are offered admission, you will have a grace period of three (3) weeks to accept it.

Failure to accept within this period means your admission will be cancelled, and you will be placed under the “Refusal to Accept Category.” This means you will become ineligible for admission in that academic year.
