PROGRAMMES OFFERED BY THE UNIVERSITY
The university offers different programmes grouped into categories. Let’s break them down so you understand better:
CATEGORY A: COMPULSORY SPORTS/HIGH-PERFORMANCE TRAINING
Every student, no matter what they study, MUST pick one sport under this category. These are practical and performance-based programs for students who want to improve in sports. Here are the sports you can choose from:

CATEGORY D: DIRECT ENTRY PROGRAMMES
If you already have a diploma, NCE, A-Level, or similar qualifications, you can apply directly into the 200 Level of your chosen degree course.

CATEGORY F: PREPARATORY STUDIES
These are basic foundation classes for people who don’t yet meet the requirements to enter a degree program. It helps students get ready for future studies. Two levels are available:
Basic Studies: For students without O’Level or WAEC/NECO results.
Foundation Studies: For students with some results but not enough to start a degree.
Once you finish preparatory studies, you can move on to degree programs! You’ll also receive training in your chosen sport.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (Who Can Apply?)
Each category has different requirements:
Category A: Must have a verifiable sporting talent (you must be good at a sport).
Category B & C (Degree Programmes): Minimum of 5 credits in WAEC/NECO including English and Mathematics + JAMB cut-off mark.
Category D (Direct Entry): Must have A-level, OND, NCE, or equivalent.
Category E (Diploma & Certificate): IJMB, JUPEB, NCE, or OND.
Category F (Preparatory): Must have at least JSS Certificate + sporting talent.
PROGRAMME COMBINATION (How Your Courses Work)
All students MUST pick one sport under Category A.
Then, you will choose your second course from Category B or C — depending on what you want to study.
So, for example:
You can combine Football (Category A) + Nursing (Category C)
Or Swimming (Category A) + Computer Science (Category C)
Or Basketball (Category A) + Sports Management (Category B)
This way, you will become skilled both in your sport and in a professional career!
