The Non-academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have instructed their members to mobilize and comply with the strike initiated by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
SSANU’s letter reads:
We bring you warm and fraternal greetings from the National Secretariat of our great Union.
In line with the attached letter from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) which we are an affiliate, on the above subject and dated 31st May, 2024, I am directed by the National President to request that you comply with the information by directing all SSANU members to liaise with their NLC State Chapter to ensure a comprehensive closure of workplace with effect from Monday 3rd June, 2024 until further notice.
You are also to liaise with your National Vice President and report the progress of the industrial action to the National Secretariat regularly.
NASU letter reads:
I am directed to forward to you the attached circular on the above subject matter dated 31 May, 2024 received from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Headquarters.
I am further directed to direct all State Secretaries to mobilise NASU branches in their States to participate fully in the forthcoming NLC/TUC strike starting on Monday, 3rd June, 2024.
